Dall-E Strikes back!

Remember we talk about Dall-E in Episode 19?

The capability of an AI algorithm to show creative behavior, such as making a piece of art, is a relevant Digital Acceleration News.

This week Dall-E is again in the headlines because Dall-E won an Art contest, and artists are furious.

Why does this matter?

As we move along adopting and consuming AI, these algorithms will play a role of similar capabilities to a Subject Matter Expert, and the performance comparison will be unavoidable.

This is not the first time an AI algorithm (ANI, Artificial Narrow Intelligence) has performed better than a Subject Matter Expert, like IBM Watson, with medical interpretation on X-Rays. Still, in previous scenarios, the task was based on rational thinking and not on creative thinking.

UK’s Supreme Court has agreed to hear a computer Scientist’s bid to assist his AI machine as the sole inventor of two separate products in an application to the UK’s patent office.

This is not the end, this ruling may greatly impact our interpretation of the roles of AI entities in our society.

Ethical AI and BMW

BMW is a market leader, no question about it. But they have also shown a lot of interest in the responsible use of innovation.

This past month they published an important article about their views on ethical AI and Digital Transformation.

Must read.

Good enough?
